Music industry veteran Mike Sherwood has been appointed Executive Vice President of Global Commercial Marketing & Strategy for Capitol Music Group (CMG), it was announced today by Capitol Records General Manager and EVP of CMG Larry Mattera, to whom Sherwood reports. In his new position, Sherwood will draw upon his extensive background to lead CMG’s commercial and Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) marketing strategies. He will directly interface with all of CMG’s digital and physical partners on frontline releases and work closely with Universal Music Enterprises (UMe).
Mattera says, “Mike possesses that rare skill set that allows him to balance his unwavering support of artistry and passion for music with the keen ability to maximize commerce in a global music economy. He’ll be an integral and driving force behind many of our new and developing artist campaigns, as well as those for our established and superstar artists. Mike is extremely well-respected and admired by our commercial partners and colleagues alike, and everyone at CMG joins me in welcoming him to the company.”

Prior to joining CMG, Sherwood was Senior Vice President of Streaming & Revenue at Warner Records, where he played a key role in the global streaming stories of a diverse array of artists, including Dua Lipa, Mac Miller and Bebe Rexha. among others.
