Mercury Records has announced the promotion of Tyler Arnold to Chairman & CEO and Ben Adelson to President & COO of the famed label. The executives previously held the titles of President and General Manager, respectively, when they first relaunched Mercury Records in 2022.
Under their leadership, Mercury has quickly cemented itself as a premier label within the industry. The label holds 5 of the Top 20 albums in the U.S. year to date, namely Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion, Post Malone’s The Diamond Collection, Noah Kahan’s Stick Season (Forever), and as part of their strategic alliance with Big Loud, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time and Dangerous: The Double Album. Beyond F-1 Trillion bowing at #1 on the Billboard 200, Post closed out last year with a total of eight Grammy Award nominations. He also served up one of the best selling songs of 2024 with “I Had Some Help” [with Morgan Wallen]. Meanwhile, two-time Grammy nominee Kahan notched the “#1 Best-Selling Single of the Year in the UK in 2024 with “Stick Season,” and he sold out stadiums and arenas worldwide on tour. As part of Mercury’s partnership with Big Loud, Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album also stands out as “The #1 best performing Billboard 200 Album of the 21st Century So Far.” Wallen’s new single “I’m The Problem” also sets the stage for more success in 2025 with a #1 debut on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, his milestone tenth #1 hit.
As such, Arnold and Adelson have established an incredible launchpad for Mercury’s future. Through a staunch commitment to artist development, they’ve cultivated a formidable roster also including AJR, Chelsea Cutler, James Bay, Jeremy Zucker, Lord Huron, Stephen Sanchez, ZAYN and more.
The executives will report to Republic Collective Founder, Chairman and CEO Monte Lipman and Founder, Vice-Chairman and COO Avery Lipman who commented “Tyler and Ben began their careers at Republic, and we’ve had a front-row seat to their incredible growth. It’s been nothing short of inspiring to watch. With Mercury, they are building a legacy that honors the label’s history by developing, breaking and supporting the next generation of career-defining artists.”
Tyler Arnold commented, ”The last 3 years at Mercury have been incredibly special. I could not be prouder of our artists, our team and the culture we’ve created. Ben and I set out to build a label that supported artist development with time, patience and a real commitment to A&R and creative marketing. I’m very grateful to Monte and Avery for their continued support of our vision and am so excited for this next chapter of Mercury Records.”
Ben Adelson added, ”I am honored to continue building the legacy of Mercury Records. More than anything, I’m most proud of our authentic and dynamic roster and the team we have brought together. Thank you to Monte and Avery for their continued support and guidance.”
