Columbia Records has appointed Matt Stevens Vice President, Promotion and Market Strategy, it was announced today by Lee Leipsner, Executive Vice President, Promotion for Columbia, to whom Matt will report. In his new role, Matt will continue to work closely with Columbia format executives and regional representatives to optimize promotional campaigns and break new artists. Additionally, Matt will collaborate with all front-line departments in the analysis of audience consumption data and develop and execute promotion strategies for the Columbia roster.
“I have watched Matt hone his promotion instincts for more than a decade,” stated Leipsner. “His skill in identifying a spark in the market and magnifying it, coupled with his ability to cultivate key relationships has made him an asset to the entire department. His unique, analytical approach to promotion will continue to serve him well in this expanded role.”

Stevens joined Columbia in 2005. In 2006 he was elevated to Regional Promotion Manager, covering multiple territories while working on campaigns for Adele, Beyoncé, John Mayer, John Legend, One Direction, Hozier, and others. In 2012, Stevens took on National Pop Promotion responsibilities in Los Angeles and San Francisco, before returning to New York in 2016 as Senior Director, Pop Promotion. Matt has led promotion campaigns for Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers and James Arthur, and is currently spearheading the launch of LSD and Silk City, among others.
