The nominees for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards were unveiled early this morning, with Lizzo topping the list, followed by Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Ariana Grande.
Lizzo is nominated eight times in total, including for Record of the Year (“Truth Hurts”), Album of the Year (Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)), Song of the Year (“Truth Hurts”) and Best New Artist. As part of her six nominations, Eilish is also up for Record of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Album of the Year (When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), Song of the Year (“Bad Guy”) and Best New Artist. Lil Nas X earned six nods as well, on the strength of “Old Town Road,” which is up for Record of the Year. The rapper is also nominated for Best New Artist and Album of the Year for his EP 7. Grande is up for five Grammys in total, including Record of the Year (“7 Rings”) and Album of the Year (thank u, next).
The rest of the Album of the Year category is made up of H.E.R. with I Used to Know Her, Vampire Weekend‘s Father of the Bride, Lana Del Rey‘s Norman F***ing Rockwell! and Bon Iver with i,i. The Record of the Year category is filled out by “Hard Place” from H.E.R., “Hey Ma” from Bon Iver, “Talk” by Khalid and Post Malone & Swae Lee‘s hit “Sunflower.” The other Song of the Year nominees are “Hard Place,” “Always Remember Us This Way” from the soundtrack to A Star is Born (“Shallow” was nominated last year), “Bring My Flowers Now” by Tanya Tucker, Lewis Capaldi with “Someone You Loved,” “Lover” by Taylor Swift and “Norman F***ing Rockwell!” by Del Rey.
