Triple A WYEP/Pittsburgh has upped Liz Felix to PD of the community-supported station.
“I’m beyond excited to take the programming helm at a station that has been such a vital part of the Pittsburgh community for 47 years,” Felix said. “I get to work with a great team of people who are highly dedicated to serving our listeners in western PA and around the world.”
Felix joined the staff at 91.3 WYEP as host of The Evening Mix in 2019 and also hosts the Pittsburgh Music Hour on Monday evenings and Block Party on Thursday nights.
“I look forward to building on WYEP’s tradition of connecting listeners with great music, particularly new artists and artists who live and make music here in Pittsburgh,” she continued.
Felix has more than 15 years of radio experience with prior posts including PD at WNKU/Cincinnati, MD at WAPS/Akron, OH; and PD at KBXR/Columbia, MO.
“It’s very exciting to have someone as knowledgeable and talented as Liz to take over programming for WYEP,” station head Mike Sauter said. “Although we are navigating a historically challenging time for media organizations, I am confident that Liz will be able to guide the station toward greater success in our efforts to serve music fans in southwestern Pennsylvania with music discovery and to help make the Pittsburgh region’s music ecosystem stronger and more vibrant.”
