iHeartMedia has announced that Lisa Worden has been named VP of Programming for Modern Rock KYSR (ALT 98.7, L.A.’s New Alternative)/Los Angeles. In addition, Worden was named Alternative Rock Brand Manager for iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group.
As VP of Programming, Worden will work alongside ALT 98.7 PD Mike Kaplan. In her new role as Alternative Rock Brand Manager, she will lead iHeartMedia’s Alternative Rock Brand Management Team, which connects key advertisers with the company’s Alternative Rock music audience and provides strategic guidance to more than 25 Alternative Rock music station brands. Worden will report to Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia, and Brad Hardin, EVP/GM of National Programming Group for iHeartMedia.
“Lisa is widely regarded as an outstanding leader in the Alternative Rock world,” said Poleman. “Her relationships are fantastic. She’ll play a key role in helping artists maximize iHeartMedia’s unmatched Alternative footprint.”
Worden has been synonymous with “The World Famous” KROQ/Los Angeles for much of her career, where she was most recently APD/MD. She first joined the station as MD in 1995. Beginning in 2003, Worden spent two years as the PD for WHFS/Washington, D.C. and returned to KROQ in 2005.
