The nominees for the 2019 Golden Globes have been announced, with a number of musical artists in the mix. Lady Gaga‘s role in A Star is Born has earned her a nod for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, while her song “Shallow” is up for Best Original Song – Motion Picture. Overall, A Star is Born earned five nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, surprisingly, instead of Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Kendrick Lamar‘s contribution to the Black Panther soundtrack, “All The Stars,” is up for Best Original Song – Motion Picture as well, along with Dolly Parton‘s “Girl in the Movies” from Dumplin’, “Requiem for a Private War” by Annie Lennox from A Private War and “Revelation” from Boy Erased by Troye Sivan.
Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is up for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Atlanta.
The upcoming Dick Cheney biopic Vice led the movie nominees with six, while The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story leads all TV nominees with four.
The Golden Globes will be handed out in exactly a month on January 6. Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh will host the show on NBC.
