Lady Gaga‘s new album Joanne hits #1 on this week’s Billboard 200, giving the Pop star the fourth #1 album of her career. Joanne earned 201,000 equivalent album units, with 170,000 in traditional sales. This gives Gaga the fourth-largest debut week of 2016, behind Drake, Beyoncé and Frank Ocean. As far as sales numbers, Joanne had the seventh largest week this year.
Coming in at #2 is the latest release from crooner Michael Buble with Nobody But Me. It is the Canadian singer’s seventh Top Ten record of his career. Acapella group Pentatonix debut at #3 with A Pentatonix Christmas, their third holiday release in four years. Veteran Rock band KoRn debut at #4 with The Serenity of Suffering, which is their 13th Top Ten debut on the Billboard chart.
At #5 is Views from Drake, which Billboard notes is the first time the album has been outside the top five since its release 26 weeks ago. The next debut comes from Christian singer-songwriter Chris Tomlin with Never Lose Sight at #6.
The Suicide Squad soundtrack is at #7 with the cast album of Hamilton at #8. Another holiday album, The Ghosts of Christmas Eve by seasonal mainstays Trans-Siberian Orchestra, debuts at #9. The top ten is rounded out by one more debut: singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen‘s You Want It Darker.
Last week’s #1 album, Walls by Kings of Leon, slips down to #20 in its second week of release.
