Kings of Leon debut atop the Billboard 200 chart this week, giving the veteran rockers their first-ever #1 record with Walls. The band’s seventh studio album earned 77,000 equivalent album units, 68,000 were in traditional album sales according to Nielsen Music. Walls is their fourth album to land in the top ten. Their previous record, 2013’s Mechanical Bull, debuted at #2.
Views by Drake is at #2 this week, followed by the Suicide Squad soundtrack at #3. Rapper The Game earned the second-highest debut on the chart, with 1992 at #4. This is The Game’s ninth album to land in the top ten throughout his career.Twenty One Pilots are at #5 with Blurryface.
The third top ten debut this week comes from Pop singer JoJo with Mad Love. It is her first full-length record in a decade and arrives at #6. After years of legal issues with her original label, Mad Love was released on her new home of Atlantic Records.
The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton is at #7, followed by Ariana Grande (#8), Travis Scott (#9) and last week’s #1 album, Revolution Radio from Green Day (#10).
