Khalid‘s new album Free Spirit debuts at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart with 202,000 equivalent album units. Nielsen Music notes it is the fourth-largest week thus far in 2019 for an album. Of this total, 85,000 were in traditional album sales. Khalid was also part of the Coachella Festival over the weekend, where he brought out Billie Eilish, Halsey and a number of other artists during his set, which was his first-ever performance at the annual California desert event.
The aforementioned Billie Eilish, who was at #1 last week, moves to #2 with When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Victory Lap from the late Nipsey Hussle is at #3, with Ariana Grande‘s Thank U, Next at #4 and Juice WRLD at #5 with Death Race for Love.
Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles debuts at #6 with Amidst the Chaos, making it her sixth album to reach the Billboard 200’s Top Ten. Post Malone is at #7 with beerbongs & bentleys. The third Top Ten debut this week comes from veteran Country duo Brooks & Dunn with Reboot, a collection of reworkings of their hits with other artists.
The Top Ten is rounded out by A Boogie Wit da Hoodie (#9) and Drake (#10).
