Black Panther soundtrackKendrick LamarDrake and Lady Gaga are among the artists topping the list of nominees for the 2019 Grammy Awards. The complete list of nominees was revealed early this morning. Lamar earned eight nods in total, due to his work on Black Panther: The Album. Lady Gaga also has the silver screen to thank as well, as the majority of her nominations are from the soundtrack to A Star is Born. Drake has the second-most nominations with seven. Producer Boi-1da and singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile earned six nods each. Cardi B is tied with Gaga with five nominations.

The Recording Academy increased the number of nominations for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist this year from five to eight.

The Album of the Year nominees are Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy; Brandi Carlile with By the Way, I Forgive You; Drake’s Scorpion; the self-titled record from H.E.R.; Post Malone with Beerbongs & Bentleys; Janelle Monáe‘s Dirty Computer; Kacey Musgraves with Golden Hour; and Black Panther: The Album.
