Katy Perry lands her third-ever #1 album on the Billboard 200, as Witness arrives on top with 180,000 equivalent album units. According to Nielsen Music, 162,000 are in traditional album sales. Both 2013’s Prism and 2010’s Teenage Dream reached #1 as well. Perry earned the biggest opening week for a female artist in 2017 as well as the largest for a woman since Lady Gaga with Joanne in November of 2016.
DAMN. from Kendrick Lamar stays at #2, while singer-songwriter SZA makes her debut at #3 with her first full-length release Ctrl. Veteran Country trio Lady Antebellum debut at #4, as Heart Break gives them the seventh Top 10 album of their career. Drake‘s More Life is at #5, with Ed Sheeran at #6 and Halsey (last week’s #1) down to #7. Bruno Mars is at #8 with 24K Magic.
Rockers Rise Against debut on the chart at #9 with Wolves, their fifth album to debut in the Top 10, which is rounded out by Post Malone‘s Stoney.
