Katy Perry has delayed the opening of her upcoming Witness: The Tour due to delays involving the production of its stage design. The tour was supposed to begin in Columbus, OH on September 7 but will now start in Montreal on September 19.
In a statement, Perry said, “Due to unavoidable production delays, major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse on until this week. I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait.”
The updated tour itinerary can be seen at www.katyperry.com/tour.
Perry also announced the opening acts for her Witness tour. Noah Cyrus will open the first leg of the tour, from September 19-November 1. Purity Ring will open up from November 7-December 20 and Carly Rae Jepsen will open for Perry from January 5-February 5, 2017.
