On Tuesday, Justin Timberlake announced his new album Man of the Woods, which will arrive on February 2, days before his Super Bowl halftime performance. Today, more information was revealed about the record.
In a press release, Man of the Woods is described as his “most ambitious album to date, both sonically and lyrically. Combining the sounds of traditional American rock with the modern influences of collaborators The Neptunes, Timbaland, Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys, this new material explores storytelling inspired by his son, his wife, and his personal journey from Memphis to where he is today.”
Target will carry an exclusive version of Man of the Woods, with different artwork, a poster and a digital download code, as well as a special vinyl release of the record.
Lead single “Filthy” will arrive this Friday. The track was co-produced by Timberlake’s longtime collaborator Timbaland, along with JT himself and Danja, and was co-written by Timberlake, James Fauntleroy and Larrance Dopson.
Three more songs and music videos “will be released weekly starting on Jan. 18 leading up to the release of the full album.” The “dance-heavy” clip for “Filthy” was helmed by veteran music video director Mark Romanek. JT tweeted that “Filthy” will land at midnight this Friday and “should be played very loud.”
