The nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards were announced on CBS this morning, with Kendrick Lamar, Lorde and JAY-Z among the most notable nominees. Jay is the most-nominated artist this year, with eight, for his latest release 4:44. It is up against Lamar’s DAMN., Lorde’s Melodrama, Bruno Mars24K Magic and Childish Gambino‘s Awaken! My Love for the coveted Album of the Year. It is Jay’s first-ever nomination for Album of the Year. He is now the third-most nominated artist in Grammy history, trailing Quincy Jones and Paul McCartney.

For Record of the Year, the nominees are Childish Gambino for “Redbone,” the smash “Desapacito” by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber, JAY-Z’s “The Story of O.J.,” “HUMBLE” by Kendrick Lamar and “24K Magic” from Bruno Mars. Nominees for Song of the Year, which goes to the songwriters, are “Desapacito,” Jay’s “4:44” title track, “Issues” by Julia Michaels, Logic featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid with “1-800-273-8255” and Mars’ “That’s What I Like.”

The Best New Artist Grammy nominees are Alessia Cara, Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels and SZA.
