After delaying their chart by a few days, Billboard has officially announced that Lana Del Rey‘s Lust for Life is the #1 album in the country this week. Earlier this week, Billboard said the Top 200 chart would be delayed because “top-tier data provider has encountered technical issues.”
Singer-songwriter Del Rey’s Lust for Life earned 107,000 equivalent album units according to Nielsen Music, 80,000 were in traditional album sales. Rapper Tyler, The Creator debuts at #2 with Flower Boy, which was close behind as it earned 106,000 equivalent album units during the week. Wins and Losses from Meek Mill debuts at #3 with 102,000 units.
This marks the second time in 2017 that the top three charting albums are all debuts. Migos, Brantley Gilbert and Kehlani all debuted at #1-3 back in mid-February.
Two Linkin Park albums moved into the Top Ten this week, sadly due to the passing of singer Chester Bennington. The band’s most recent album, One More Light, climbed from #17 to #4 while their 2000 debut record Hybrid Theory reached #8.
At #5 is DAMN. from Kendrick Lamar, while the soundtrack to the Disney Channel TV movie Descendants 2 debuts at #6. After two weeks atop the Billboard 200, 4:44 from JAY-Z drops to #7. DJ Khaled is at #9 with Grateful. The Top Ten is rounded out with a debut from Romeo Santos‘s new album Golden.
