in2une Music President Dale Connone has announced that Dave Lombardi has joined the New York team as SVP of Promotion for Rock Formats. Lombardi brings more than twenty years of major label experience to his new position and will oversee and develop strategies at the Rock, Alternative and Triple A formats. He starts in his new position on June 16.
“I am beyond thrilled to have Dave Lombardi join in2une and take this department to the next level. Dave knows what it takes to break records and artists in the independent sector,” said Connone.
Lombardi says about the move, “When I left Caroline, I knew I wanted to remain in Independent services. When I found out Dale was expanding In2une, I couldn’t believe my luck. I have so much respect for Dale and In2une. Their reputation is terrific. I couldn’t be more excited and proud to join this team.”
Lombardi spent the last 11+ years working in the indie lane at the Capitol Music Group, first as Head of Promotion for Astralwerks and, most recently, as Head of Promotion for the NYC-based Caroline team. Lombardi’s efforts helped deliver Slash’s only #1 solo Active Rock hits, M83’s only Top 5 Alt hit and City and Colour’s only Top 10 Triple A hit, while also achieving career-best airplay for The Kooks and Alter Bridge, among others.
Prior to his work with Capitol Music Group, Lombardi spent three years at Arista in NYC and nearly 13 years at Warner Bros. in Burbank, handling Alternative and Rock promotion at both stops. At WB he worked with established artists, including Tom Petty, Van Halen, Linkin Park and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but primarily focused on exposing and breaking new bands like Jane’s Addiction, the Goo Goo Dolls, Ministry, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream and Static-X.
