iHeartMedia’s Allentown-Harrisburg Region announced today the expansion of programming roles for Newman, Dave Hovel, Derrick ‘DC’ Cole, Kathryn Alt and Jeff Hurley, effective immediately.
Newman has been named Program Director for Country WRBT (BOB 94.9, Harrisburg’s No. 1 For New Country). As Program Director, Newman will be responsible for day-to-day programming, music scheduling and talent coaching. He will report to Jeff Hurley, Regional SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Allentown-Harrisburg Region. “I am beyond excited to be trusted with WRBT, the station I’ve called my home for nearly 17 years,” said Newman. “I look forward to working with some of the finest programmers in the business.”
Hovel has added duties as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia-Wilmington. He will be responsible for oversight of all programming, digital and events. Additionally, he will continue his role as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia-Salisbury. Hovel commented, “This is a homecoming for me, having spent nearly a quarter century in the market and having already worked side by side with Sky Phillips, Christa Cooper, Kat Alt and Buzz Arnold. We are hitting the ground running!”
iHeartMedia-Allentown named Cole Program Director for Mainstream CHR WAEB (B104, The Valley’s No. 1 Hit Music Station) and Rock WZZO (95.1 ZZO, The Valley’s Rock Station). As PD, he will be responsible for day-to-day programming, music scheduling and talent coaching. DC remarked, “In the past five years I’ve been able to work with some great brands in this region, and with some of the best people who are passionate about what we do. To those I say thank you! Going to Allentown was always the next step in my mind and I’m beyond excited for this opportunity.”
Alt adds Program Director duties for 94.7 WDSD, Delaware’s Country Station, in addition to her duties as PD for Adult Hits WRDX (92.9 TomFM, the 80’s, 90’s to NOW). She will be responsible for day-to-day programming, music scheduling and talent coaching. “I can’t begin to express what an honor this is,” said Alt. “I can still remember the day I started at iHeartRadio-Wilmington. My sole responsibilities were to get coffee and book morning show guests. Almost 20 years later, I am so proud to be overseeing 94.7 WDSD. The station is an integral part of our market and our community. It is such an amazing opportunity.”
Hurley adds PD duties for FM97 WLAN, Lancaster’s No. 1 Hit Music Station. He will maintain his role as Regional SVP of Programming and PD for 93.3 KISS FM, Harrisburg’s No. 1 Hit Music Station. He will be responsible for day-to-day programming, music scheduling and talent coaching for both stations.
