For the 12th year, iHeartMedia will join forces with international advocacy organization Global Citizen to serve as the exclusive U.S. audio partner of the Global Citizen Festival, broadcasting performances from Central Park’s Great Lawn on September 28 to millions of listeners on iHeartRadio stations across America and the iHeartRadio app. Additionally, iHeart has launched Global Citizen Radio, available on the iHeartRadio app, featuring music from past and present Festival performers, and the latest news and information leading up to the show.
Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman will host this year’s event, which will also feature appearances by Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder, the Jane Goodall Institute & UN Messenger of Peace, and Global Citizen Festival Curator, Chris Martin of Coldplay.
For the first time, Premiere Networks, a division of iHeartMedia, will also offer the global event featuring all headline performances to international radio stations worldwide.
Coinciding with the gathering of the UN General Assembly in New York City, sixty thousand global citizens will unite on September 28 to call for action on the most urgent issues facing the world, including the hunger crisis, climate change, and the inequity facing women and girls. Global citizens have taken over 33 million actions, resulting in more than $43 billion being distributed to non-profit partners around the world, impacting more than 1.3 billion lives.
“For over a decade iHeart and Global Citizen have partnered to encourage citizens to take action in the movement to end extreme poverty by using their powerful collective voice to advocate for change,” said John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia. “iHeart is once again bringing the Global Citizen Festival from Central Park into thousands of communities – both in the U.S. and globally – to ensure that millions of people are inspired to take action.”
Tickets to the Global Citizen Festival are free and can be earned by taking action on the Global Citizen app or at
