iHeartMedia has announced that Alex Mac has been named Afternoon Show Host and Assistant Program Director for Top 40 WDCG (G105), effective October 1. Mac will broadcast weekday afternoons from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mac will report to A.J., Region Senior Vice President for iHeartMedia’s Virginia-Carolina Region.
“Alex’s passion for music and entertainment is like no other,” said A.J. “I look forward to him joining the team and I am thrilled about what he will bring to the Raleigh community as we build the next chapter of G105.”
Mac most recently was the afternoon show host and assistant program director at iHeartMedia Des Moines’ ALT 106.3 and also served as an on-air personality for ALT 104.9 in St. Louis and WRXL in Richmond, Va.
“I’m very excited to join the iHeartMedia team in Raleigh – to help lead the iconic, market-leading G105 brand is an incredible opportunity,” said Mac. “I also can’t wait to catch up each weekday afternoon with our listeners and invite them to be a bigger part of G105. We’re on-air, on social media and on the streets of Raleigh as a real part of the community.”
