iHeartMedia Connecticut announced today that two of its Thanksgiving Week food drives collected nearly 5,000 frozen turkeys, over 8,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and raised over $189,000 in monetary donations to benefit Connecticut Foodshare.

iHeartMedia Hartford stations The River 105.9, KISS 95-7, Country 92-5 and 97-9 ESPN supported Bank of America’s 23rd annual Turkey Tuesday which took place at Connecticut Foodshare’s headquarters and warehouse on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The River 105.9’s on-air personality Renee DiNino, broadcasted from Connecticut Foodshare to raise awareness and encourage donations from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“Hunger is a chronic problem that affects nearly 400,000 people in Connecticut, especially those most vulnerable in our community,” said Joe Gianni, President, Bank of America of Greater Hartford. “Our continued partnership with Connecticut Foodshare is one way that we are working to address critical needs statewide. We are pleased that Bank of America Turkey Tuesday has become the single-largest Thanksgiving food collection event of the season.”

Later in the week, the 32nd annual “KC101 Stuff-A-Bus” took place on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19 at the Stop & Shop Plaza in Hamden, CT from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. on both days. The event featured on-air personalities Vinnie Penn, Rob Dibble and Adam Rivers who hosted live broadcasts from inside a tent in the parking lot.
