iHeartMedia-Colorado announced today “We are iHeart Colorado. Boulder Strong” – a on-air broadcast fundraiser to benefit the victims and the
families of Monday’s mass shooting, which took place at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, CO and claimed the lives of 10 people, including a Boulder Police Officer. Funds raised from the event will be distributed through the Community Foundation of Boulder County, a local nonprofit responding to immediate needs and anticipating future challenges of the community.
On Friday, March 26, all 26 iHeartMedia stations across Colorado including iHeartMedia-Denver/Boulder, iHeartMedia-Fort Collins/Northern Colorado, iHeartMedia-Colorado Springs and iHeartMedia-Pueblo/Southern Colorado will encourage listeners to help the victims of Monday’s tragic event and their families. Monetary donations can be made directly to the Community Foundation of Boulder County through each station’s website. The funds will
provide help with expenses such as travel and lodging for families of victims, immediate costs such as rent and utilities, and more long-term needs identified by the community impacted. In addition to fundraising efforts, the stations’ on-air personalities will provide messaging for those who are struggling with this tragedy by encouraging them to connect with Colorado Crisis Services.
“Words cannot express the grief that our community has experienced as a result of this horrific event,” said Brenda Egger, President of iHeartMedia’s Denver Region. “Together, with Community Foundation of Boulder County, we are proud to help with the healing process and provide assistance to those who were impacted by Monday’s tragedy.”
