Ian Cripps has been promoted to Vice President of A&R for Atlantic Records. Cripps, who joined Atlantic in 2014, was most recently Senior Director of A&R. Based in Los Angeles, he reports to Atlantic President of A&R Pete Ganbarg. In his new post, Cripps will continue to work with an eclectic, genre-spanning roster of artists.

“Ian is the consummate A&R person, with the rare ability to identify and nurture great artists across a diversity of styles,” said Atlantic Chairman/CEO Craig Kallman and President of A&R Pete Ganbarg. “Since coming on board three years ago, he has done everything from shepherding multi-platinum rap hits to working closely with country stars. He’s a tremendous asset to the Atlantic A&R team, and we’re very happy to recognize his exceptional talent and wide-ranging accomplishments with this richly deserved promotion.”

“Atlantic is the most exciting place to be in the industry right now,” said Cripps. “Everyone is urged to go with your gut, take chances, and above all, make the artist feel at home, with the freedom and encouragement to do their best work. I want to thank Craig and Pete for their incredible support and the entire Atlantic team for the amazing job they do in bringing our artists’ music to the fans.”

Prior to joining Atlantic, Cripps worked as a creative at Laffitte Management Group. He got his start in the industry at Warner Bros. Records, where he began as a 15-year-old intern in the New Media department before moving over to handle A&R.
