The soundtrack to Fifty Shades Darker debuts at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart. The compilation earned 123,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music, 72,000 of which were in traditional album sales. The Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack debuted at #2 in February of 2015. Fifty Shades Darker features the new single “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” by Zayn and Taylor Swift.
A number of artists saw a chart increase thanks to the Grammys. After his performance of “That’s What I Like” and Prince tribute, Bruno Mars moves up to #2 with 24K Magic. The Weeknd‘s Starboy remains at #5 but Billboard notes its equivalent album units were up 15 percent following his Grammy performance. Unsurprisingly, Adele saw a huge boost as her 25 won for Album of the Year. It climbs from #21 to #6 with a 137 percent increase in units. And Beyoncé’s Lemonade also soared up the charts after her epic performance of “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles.” Lemonade moved from #33 up to #9, with a 190 percent increase in total units.
As for the rest of the top ten, Big Sean‘s I Decided is at #3 with Culture from Migos at #4. The Trolls soundtrack moves up to #7 following its home video release. Joanne by Lady Gaga is at #8 while the La La Land soundtrack is at #10.
