Traci Adams has been named Executive Vice President of Promotion for Epic Records. It was announced today by Sylvia Rhone, President, Epic Records. Adams will report to Rhone and oversee all promotional campaigns in the urban space for the label, including Urban, Hip hop and Adult Contemporary Formats. Previously Adams was SVP of Promotion.
“Traci is undeniably a powerhouse in promotion. Her appointment to Executive Vice President puts her at the head of the class,” stated Rhone.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue growing in an industry that I love,” stated Adams. “It’s been a tremendous experience to work alongside Sylvia Rhone, who is truly one of the legends of this business. I look forward to grooming executive talent and breaking new artists at the level that has made Epic Records such an iconic label.”
Adams began her career as an intern at LaFace Records in Atlanta. Her first job in the music business was as a programming assistant at Radio One’s WFUN/St. Louis, becoming Music Director in 2001. In 2003, she relocated to Chicago, thereafter D.C. and then New York with Island Def Jam initially as a Regional then promoted to National Director of Promotion in 2008. In 2012 Traci joined Epic Records as VP/Promotion, promoted to Senior Vice President in 2014. In 2017 the Epic team made history as the first label to deliver 3 consecutive #1’s with French Montana’s “Unforgettable,” DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” and Yo Gotti’s “Rake it Up.” Epic also earned #1 Urban label honors for 2017.
