Entercom has announced that Kristina Hammerschmidt has been appointed News Director of KYW Newsradio (KYW-AM) in Philadelphia, effective November 19. In this new role, Hammerschmidt will oversee the 24-hour multiplatform newsroom at Philadelphia’s iconic all-news station.
“Kristina is a talented and dynamic leader with expertise that will take the KYW Newsradio team to the next level,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Philadelphia. “Her strong track record producing live newscasts will help us deliver on our mission of telling compelling stories and setting the agenda for news coverage in the Delaware Valley.”

A Philadelphia native, Hammerschmidt joined Entercom in 2017 as an editor and writer for KYW Newsradio. She previously served as a producer and writer for KYW-TV in Philadelphia, WFMZ-TV in Allentown, PA and WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD.
