Entercom today announced that Race Taylor will be joining WCBS-FM 101.1, New York’s only greatest hit station. Taylor will join the classic hits station as the midday on-air host from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, effective July 22.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Race to WCBS-FM and to reunite him with some of our most legendary on-air personalities,” said Susan Larkin, Regional President and Market Manager, Entercom New York. “We are thrilled to offer former WPLJ fans a new place to call home at our station and to offer Race’s loyal listeners more of the absolute best on-air listening experience for which we are known.”
“Pinch me. I am beyond ecstatic for the support I’ve received from Jim Ryan [Senior Vice President of Programming, Entercom New York] and Susan Larkin,” said Taylor. “To say I’m a lucky guy to walk into one of the greatest radio stations ever is an understatement. There are some two million PLJ fans looking for a station to call home and I’d love for them to join me at WCBS-FM. I’m ready to rock. Scott Shannon, I’ve missed you brother.”
Race Taylor is a radio veteran, spending nearly 20 years on air at the recently shuttered 95.5 WPLJ New York, and hosted part of the final 48 hours and sign off on May 31, 2019. Currently, Taylor is the billboard voice for ABC-TV’s prime-time, daytime, and late-night programming.
