Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran lead the first round of nominees announced for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. Khalid and Bebe Rexha appeared on the Today Show this morning to reveal the nominations for seven of the major categories, with the rest of the nods rolled out online.
Mars, Lamar and Sheeran all earned an impressive 15 nominations each, followed by Post Malone with 12 nods. Imagine Dragons are nominated for 10 Billboard Music Awards while Drake was nominated nine times. Also of note, Justin Bieber and Cardi B have eight nominations each.
The Top Artist nominees are Drake, Lamar, Mars, Sheeran and Taylor Swift, who snagged five total nominations. The nominated tunes for Top Hot 11 Song are Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber for “Despacito, Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble,” Bruno Mars with “That’s What I Like,” “Rockstar” by Post Malone ft. 21 Savage and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You.” This year’s Top New Artist nominees are 21 Savage, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Khalid and Kodak Black.

The Billboard Music Awards will move to NBC this year, after decades of airing on ABC. The awards show will air on Sunday. May 20 at 8pm ET.
