Daft Punk, the masked French electronic duo who have spent nearly three decades making dance music together, have called it quits. The highly influential pair made the announcement in an 8-minute video title “Epilogue.” Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo formed Daft Punk in 1993 and released their debut Homework four years later. Daft Punk had a number of dance hits that crossed over from the dance scene into the pop world, such as “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” The latter was sampled in Kanye West‘s hit “Stronger” off 2007’s Graduation. Daft Punk was also known for their expansive, pyramid-centric live show.

In 2013, Daft Punk had their biggest mainstream success with Random Access Memories. The single “Get Lucky” featuring Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams was a massive worldwide hit and earned two Grammys. Random Access Memories earned them three more Grammys, including Album of the Year.
