Cumulus Media has announced that it has promoted Bobby Novosad to Program Director of Country KXKC-FM (NASH FM 99.1). The promotion expands Novosad’s leadership role in the Cumulus Media-Lafayette station cluster. Novosad retains his duties as Brand Manager and Morning Host of Cumulus Media-Lafayette’s Top 40 station, KSMB-FM, a position he has held for over 32 years.
Scott Chiasson, Vice President and Market Manager, Cumulus Media-Lafayette, said: “I am very excited to promote Bobby to Program Director of KXKC-NASH FM 99.1. Bobby has been a generational staple in the Lafayette metro area and is a fantastic radio guy. His deep experience and understanding of the way a winning station should sound is already having an impact. This is great for Bobby, Cumulus, our loyal listeners and the community we serve.”
Novosad said: “It’s hard to fathom that I started my 33rd year this week at KSMB. From part-time on Sundays to Middays/Promotions Director, Assistant Music Director, Music Director, APD to PD, I have enjoyed it all and still do. KSMB continues to be the market powerhouse in Lafayette, LA. My staff is beyond amazing, Karli Guidry is the perfect co-host, and our ratings are through the stratosphere.”
He added: “That said, I am beyond excited to add to that success as Program Director of NASH FM 99.1. I love challenges and this is one I couldn’t turn down. Thanks to Scott Chiasson, Pat Galloway, Greg Frey, Mike McVay, Charlie Cook and Cat Thomas for this opportunity.”
