CBS Radio presented its fifth annual We Can Survive show at the historic Hollywood Bowl this past Saturday, October 21. This year’s line-up was the show’s biggest yet, featuring performances by Alessia Cara, Harry Styles, Kesha, Khalid, Lorde, Macklemore, P!nk, Sam Hunt, and Sam Smith and a surprise performance by Niall Horan. The show is hosted in support of breast cancer awareness and benefits the Young Survival Coalition, the premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful.
Highlights of the show included a collaboration between Kesha and Macklemore on “Good Old Days” and Harry Styles leading the audience to sing Happy Birthday to his mom who was celebrating her 50th. Country crooner Sam Hunt had audiences dancing in the aisles to “Body Like a Back Road” while P!nk’s latest single, “What About Us” was moving and feel good.
Michael Martin, CBS Radio’s SVP of Music Initiatives, commented, “This year’s show was nothing short of spectacular! From the line-up to the attendance, the energy and spirit at the Hollywood Bowl was just captivating. We’re incredibly thankful to all of the artists and fans along with our sponsors and partners that came out to support CBS Radio and the fight against breast cancer.”
