.) I started out as a mobile DJ in Boston when I was 12 years old and that’s how I met local radio legend Vinnie Peruzzi who got me into radio as a board op while I was still in high school. He introduced me to Pete Falconi, Ron Valeri and Jerry McKenna who all gave me part-time jobs in Boston and Providence.

.) My first big break was landing nights at WXLO in Worcester under PD Chace Murphy. He was the creative genius behind the “New Guy” stunt I pulled on my first shift which was covered on every TV station and newspaper in the area.

.) I worked weekends at Kiss 95.7 in Hartford under Tracy Austin while working at XLO. Rick Vaughn came to town soon after and promoted me to afternoons, MD and APD. We had a great airstaff that is still like family!

Joey Brooks: While working at Kiss 95.7 I landed a weekend gig at my hometown station Kiss 108 and stayed on for over 10 years. I was lucky to work with Matty, Billy Costa, Dale Dorman Ed McMann, Artie, Skip Kelly, Tyler and David Cory who were my idols growing up. In the later years it was great to be on with Mikey and Frankie V under Dylan Sprague.

.) After a great run in Hartford, I landed a gig at Q 102 in Philadelphia under PD Rick Vaughn for afternoons, MD and APD. Philly is very similar to my hometown of Boston and quickly became one of my favorite cities.

.) In 2009 I made the move to CHUM FM in Toronto under PD David Cory. This was an incredible experience and I was lucky to host afternoons on the biggest station in the country. The airstaff was legendary and truly loved by all in this incredible city.

.) By 2012 it was time to take the leap and become a PD. Alex Tear made this a reality and brought me to Miami to program 93.9 MIA. I learned a lot and was able to succeed in the toughest radio market in the country. I also hosted mornings for 4 years and later became the APD and MD for the legendary Y100.

.) After almost 8 years in Miami, I made the next step and came back to Connecticut as the SVPP for the Hartford and New Haven markets. It is incredible to be able to work with brands like Kiss 95.7, KC 101, Country 92.5, The River 105.9, 979 ESPN, WELI, WAVZ, WPOP and The Beat. We have amazing talent and heritage stations which makes coming to work a blast every day!
