I was the producer of The Eddie & Jobo Morning Show at Q102 in Philly in the early 90s. Included are Eddie, Jobo, Valerie Knight, Diego and our assistant producer, Heather. This crew certainly made for some crazy mornings, to say the least.
My career began at Q102 in Philly. This is B97/New Orleans PD Jammer (at the time known as “Mr. Radio”) and I at one of our Q102 Anniversary shows. Fun times from way back in the day!
Bartel: When my career moved from Philadelphia to Orlando, I had the amazing opportunity to be the PD at Cox owned WPYO (95.3 Party) Orlando’s Party Station. This station was so unique and the staff was incredible. This was at our Cox Top 40 team meeting in Clearwater Beach with Jeremy Rice, Phil Michaels-Trueba, Jill Strada, and the rest of the staff.
Great time at the Q102 Reunions with Jeff Mason, Diego, DMS’ Bob Burke, Howard The Duck and one of my best mentors and a guy who taught me much of what I know about radio, Glenn Kalina. Thanks, Glenn!
Bartel: I was born and raised in the Philly area, so yes, I’m a huge Philly sports fan. I also love to give back and help others radio dreams come true. I’m so happy to see Bex accomplish great things in Philly! Proud of you!! Ahhh, what can I say about the amazing Miss Anita!?!?! For many years, she was the smile and the welcoming face that would greet our staff and the artists that came to visit us here at iHeart NYC. She wasn’t just our receptionist, she was…still is…..and will always be….our family. If you have been lucky enough to visit us here in NYC, you know exactly what I’m talking about! We love her so much!! This was at her retirement party in 2019.

Well, earlier I mentioned how much of a big Philly sports fan I am. This is where two of my favorite worlds collided. While at the Maxim Party in Minneapolis for the Eagles Super Bowl winning weekend, I got to spend some time with Post Malone! Music and sports coming together in the same weekend…AMAZING!

PEACE ON THE STREETS! One of the most memorable times in my career was being a part of the Q102 staff under Jefferson Ward and our “Peace On The Streets” movement. This was taken in the heart of North Philadelphia, with Q staff members Glenn Kalina, Rick Baby, Maurice DeVoe, Donna Storm, and Diego. It was used as cover for a feature interview on the radio station.
