Brian Boulos, son of Arista EVP of Promotion John Boulos, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a project close to his heart. Brian is in the in the initial stages of filming for his self-produced documentary to complement a long-term photographic portrait project regarding female sex workers in Cartagena, Colombia. Most of the young women he has photographed are Venezuelan migrants and refugees, which is a substantial part of their stories being told.

Given the overall conditions of the country, and the endless lack of opportunities to seek other ways to make a living, these girls are left optionless because as migrants and refugees they don’t possess any passports so they can’t work legally.

The documentary casts these girls telling their own stories collected from Brian’s visits to Cartagena. The girls speak about their predicaments and how they desperately have to engage in this line of work out of necessity to survive. They essentially are forced into it by the circumstances that surround them.

Brian comments, “Any support or contribution will be appreciated and help get things off the ground, hopefully eventually leading to a beautiful, powerful, full-length film.”
