Alt-pop artist Billie Eilish arrives at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, as her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? earned 313,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music data. Eilish earned the second-biggest sales week thus far in 2019 with 170,000 units in traditional sales.
Eilish earned the second-largest opening week of 2019 in terms of total units, following Ariana Grande‘s Thank U, Next. Surprisingly, it also sold 15,000 copies on vinyl, making it the best-selling new LP of 2019. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? also had the third-largest streaming week every for a female artist, after Thank U, Next and Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy. The 17-year-old also has the unique distinction of being the first artist to ever have a #1 album that was born in the 2000s.
Following his death on March 31, rapper Nipsey Hussle‘s 2018 album Victory Lap re-enters the charts at #2. Nielsen notes that its total equivalent album units grew by 2,244 percent to 66,000 units.
The aforementioned Thank U, Next from Grande is at #3 this week. Country legend George Strait earned his 21st top 10 record on the Billboard chart with Honky Tonk Time Machine, which debuted at #4.
The rest of the top 10 is filled out by Juice WRLD (#5), NAV (#6), Post Malone (#7), the soundtrack to A Star is Born (#8), A Boogie Wit da Hoodie (#9) and Drake (#10).
