As expected, Beyoncé‘s new album Renaissance easily debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with 332,000 equivalent album units. This gives her the second-largest overall week of the year as well as the biggest week from a female artist. Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album and first since the smash Lemonade in 2016. According to Luminate‘s data, of Renaissance’s 332,000 units, album sales made up 190,000; SEA units comprised 138,000 (equaling 179.06 million on-demand official streams of its tracks), and TEA units comprised 4,000.
Renaissance also earned the seventh-biggest streaming debut among all albums in 2022 and Beyoncé’s largest streaming week ever. Renaissance had the third-largest sales week for an album in 2022, following Harry Styles and BTS. It sold 121,000 copies on CD, 43,000 via digital downloads and 26,000 on vinyl. Physical sales also included multiple limited edition deluxe box sets through her own website.
Bad Bunny‘s Un Verano Sin Ti falls to #2 after spending multiple weeks at #1, followed by K-Pop act ATEEZ debuting at #3 with The World EP.1: Movement. Dangerous: The Double Album from Morgan Wallen continues its chart reign at #4 while Styles and Harry’s House is at #5.
Another South Korean pop group, ENHYPEN, debut at #6 with the six-song Manifesto: Day 1. Rap duo $uicideboy$ arrive at #7 with Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation. The fifth top 10 debut this week is from rockers Dance Gavin Dance with Jackpot Juicer at #8.
The top 10 is filled out by Future at #9 and Drake at #10.
