As the waves crashed along the shores of Fort Lauderdale Beach, sounds of Audacy’s Riptide Music Festival filled the air on December 2 and 3. Headlined by The Black Keys and Audacy Launch artist Jelly Roll, the two-day event also featured Bleachers, Young the Giant, Dirty Heads, Sublime with Rome, Lovejoy, Cannons, Silversun Pickups, AWOLNATION, lovelytheband, MisterWives, Beach Weather, Barns Courtney, Weathers, The Moss, little image, The Beaches, Jack Kays, Girlfriend Material, Alex Di Leo and KC Chopz.
“Riptide Music Festival’s highly anticipated return was met with unmatched energy from locals and tourists alike,” said Claudia Menegus, Regional President, Audacy. “The weekend was a shining success in more ways than we could’ve imagined. It was incredible to see this end-of-year party, powered by our amazing audience and partners, finally reunite back on the sand.”
“Audacy was the station that championed ‘Son of a Sinner.’ They went first; the rest of the country was lagging behind. No one knew and it was really hard,” said Jelly Roll. “It’s funny looking back where we are today. We were taking ‘Son of a Sinner,’ to Country radio, we were met with a lot of resistance, and Audacy gave us zero…and I think that’s how I ended up at Riptide. And it’s even cooler that this got to happen on my birthday, my third No. 1 in Country radio, and I’m doing the show with the company that got me to Country radio first. Something poetic about that.”
