Audacy’s BIG 98.1 (WOGL-FM)/Philly morning show host Coop will walk from Philadelphia to Atlantic City for “Coop’s Miles for Miracles,” a fundraiser benefiting the Child Life Services Department at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The journey started June 9th and will run to June 13th.
His journey this morning at BIG 98.1’s Borgata Studio and will finish at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, covering about 12 miles daily along a New Jersey police-provided route with a support vehicle.
The event aims to raise significant funds for CHOP. Each day of Coop’s trek will commence from a designated sponsor location, dubbed a “Miracle Mile Pit Stop.” These generous sponsors include Turnersville KIA in Sicklerville, New Jersey, Archer Exteriors in Pittsgrove, New Jersey and Sport Hyundai in Egg Harbor Township. The presenting sponsors for this inspiring initiative are Visit Atlantic City and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. At the end of Coop’s meaningful journey, a co-branded check from Borgata, Visit Atlantic City and Audacy will be presented to CHOP.
Coop’s dedication to the Child Life Services Department at CHOP is deeply personal. He is a fervent advocate for the often-unsung heroes who provide crucial emotional and social support to young patients and their families. Child Life Specialists at CHOP offer a wide array of services, including therapeutic play, organizing birthday and prom celebrations for patients, providing comfort before surgeries and offering art and music therapy. They also bring in therapy dogs to soothe and comfort children during their hospital stays.
This new fundraising walk builds upon BIG 98.1’s long-standing commitment to CHOP. The station’s annual two-day Radiothon, hosted entirely by Coop each December, has successfully raised millions of dollars over nearly a quarter of a century. Now, Coop is eager to deepen his commitment by literally “walking the walk” this June
