According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, Positions earned 174,000 equivalent album units in its first week of availability, placing it atop the Billboard 200. Positions is Grande’s third #1 album in less than two years and three months, following 2019’s Thank U, Next and Sweetener in September of 2018. Her previous #1 albums were Yours Truly in 2013 and My Everything in 2014. In 2016, Dangerous Woman debuted at #2.
Rapper Trippie Redd arrives at #2 on the Billboard chart with Pegasus, his fifth release to debut in the top five in the past 2+ years, with 60,000 equivalent album units. Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon from Pop Smoke is at #3 with Luke Combs‘ What You See Is What You Get at #4.
The third-highest debut comes from British pop singer Sam Smith, as Love Goes debuts at #5 with 41,000 equivalent album units. Love Goes is Smith’s third album in a row to debut in the top five.
