Adele‘s hit album 30 spends its sixth week at #1 on the Billboard 200, with 99,000 more equivalent album units in the final week of 2021, according to MRC Data. This was likely the last week that holiday music will shake up the top 10, as Michael Bublé‘s perennial hit record Christmas is at #2. Taylor Swift‘s Red (Taylor’s Version) is at #3 followed by Sour from Olivia Rodrigo at #4 and Morgan Wallen‘s Dangerous: The Double Album up to #5.
Nat King Cole‘s The Christmas Story is at #6, with the soundtrack to Disney‘s Encanto flying from #110 to #7, due to the animated film’s Disney+ debut. Encanto was released in theaters for a month before appearing on the streaming service on Christmas Eve and features songs written by Lin Manuel-Miranda.
The rest of the top 10 is all holiday music, with the soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas at #8, Mariah Carey‘s Merry Christmas at #9 and 1963’s A Christmas Gift for You From Phil Spector lands at #10.
