Philadelphia award-winning radio legend Glenn Kalina took to social media on Tuesday with a personal update that’s both personal and urgent. Please view the link below as Glenn shares a personal health story that in short amounts to, “Hello! My name is Glenn Kalina, and I need a kidney transplant.”

Kalina is beloved by so many in the tri-state Delaware Valley, and is considered Radio Royality, both behind the scenes and on the mic over the course of his 51-year career. He retired from the broadcasting in 2021 after being a part of so many legendary stations including WIOQ (Q102), WCAU-FM (“Hot Hits), WOGL (Oldies 98), WLCE (Alice 104.5), WMWX (Mix 95.7), WZZD (WIZZARD 100), 610 WIP, and WICK in Scranton PA where his career began in 1970 while attending college.

This news really hits close to home for us at Deane Media Solutions (DMS). Kalina once served as Managing Editor when we were known as Kal Rudman’s legendary FMQB (Friday Morning Quarterback), music industry trade publication.

Nowadays, Kalina spends time as a self-employed voice actor and helping his wife Stavra manage their arts studios, Stavra Fine Arts Portraits Studio & Gallery. He’s always been a pillar of strength in the community and he’s hoping that by sharing his story he can continue to live a long and healthy life.  We share that same hope too!
