The 2017 edition of Guinness is recognizing Bieber for the Most streamed album on Spotify in one week, most streamed track on Spotify in one week, Most simultaneous tracks on the U.S. singles chart, Most simultaneous new entries in the Hot 100 by a solo artist, First act to occupy all top three positions simultaneously on UK singles chart, Most followers on Twitter (male), Most viewed music channel on YouTube (individual) and Most subscribers on YouTube for a musician (male).
The Weeknd is also going into the Guinness Book twice, for Most streamed album on Spotify in one year, current (unique listeners) and Most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a solo male artist.
Are Drake and Kanye West teasing a new collaboration? Over the weekend, a billboard appeared in Los Angeles with the phrase “Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi” and the logos of Drake’s OVO Sound and West’s G.O.O.D. Music at the bottom. West had suggested in the past that he and Drake had been in the studio together. On the other hand, a website appeared online today featuring a mystery countdown clock at drakeandrihanna.com, though it turned out to be a hoax. Drake and Rihanna‘s camps both confirmed to media sources that it was a fake.
Jimmy Eat World will release the new album Integrity Blues on October 21 via RCA Records. The lead single “Sure & Certain” landed at radio today. Integrity Blues is the band’s ninth album and was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Paramore, Tegan and Sara).
