Lady Gaga announced today that she will be releasing a new single, titled “Perfect Illusion,” next month. The singer/actress suggested the track is the first taste of her fifth album, as she tagged her tweet with #LP5. LadyGaga.com is currently scrolling “Lady Gaga – New Single – Perfect Illusion” over and over as the only content on the site. According to Pitchfork, the song was co-produced by Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker of the band Tame Impala.
Additionally, Gaga has been cast in the long-in-the-works remake of the film A Star Is Born. Deadline reports that a deal has been closed for her to appear in her first starring role, while actor Bradley Cooper will be behind the camera in his directorial debut. Gaga will also compose and perform new music for the movie, which will begin production in early 2017. A Star Is Born has been remade multiple times over the decades and originated back in 1937.
Last but not least, Lady Gaga has penned the foreword for a cookbook written by her father, Joe Germanotta. He is the owner of Joanne Trattoria in New York’s Upper West Side. Joanne Trattoria Cookbook: Classic Recipes and Scenes from an Italian American Restaurant is due out on November 22.
