What artist who visited your station had the biggest impact with your listeners? |

Kobe/WLDI: We’ve been giving away a pair of Justin Timberlake tickets a day for the past two months for the upcoming show. People have been going crazy! WIHT/Toby Knapp: From my days at WNOK, Ashley Parker Angel. In DC, Justin Timberlake and Nick Lachey. WAKS/Kasper: Nick Lachey. The station practically shut down when he come by and it gave me my shot at fame on MTV. WAEB/Eric Chase: Petey Pablo when I worked in Saginaw. He jumped into the crowd and bumped into a girl and then he brought her on stage and showed he wasn’t this thug. WYKS/Carter: Local bands do well with our college town. WRHT/Alan Fox: Bowling For Soup. They did a great concert performing for our listeners. Stiller/WBYR: Hinder. The whole band came up to the studio and one of the guys in the band put a mouse trap on his nads! He actually offered to do it because it was related to another promotion we were doing with the mouse trap. We were walking around the sold-out Hinder show that night with 1,800 people, and people kept asking us which guy from the band did it. It still has all the listeners talking about it. Roxanne Steele/WZOR: Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrel on the Damageplan promo tour. They hung out in studio, and then they came to a local band night that we do every Thursday at a local bar. They signed autographs, watched the bands, did shots with people. It was an incredible night. I have an empty bottle of Jager signed by the guys in the band. |
Tim Parker/WNOR: Evanescence, because their unplugged performance was just unbelievable. Adam Chandler/WIHN: Silvertide. They came and took over the afternoon show. They invited listeners to come down to the station and they hung out in the parking lot with people, signed autographs and took photos. They were in no rush to leave. People loved it. Roger Orton/KHTB: Last year the boys from Hinder came through and they were the biggest party animals that I had ever come across – real throwbacks from the ’80s. We invited listeners down and barbecued on the patio and they drew hundreds of people. They hung out, said hello to everyone and partied with all of us like it was a backyard barbecue. It was one of the biggest things we’ve done at the station. Scott Less/KXFX: Shinedown. They came in last October and they played five songs unplugged for contest winners. I still hear about it today. They were just awesome. Mase/WKZQ: The Ataris, their new song is reacting here and hey, they did a Replacements cover for us! Matt Lee/WARQ: Flyleaf Jessica Lee/WDYL Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars Greg Rampage/KFMA: Plain White T’s, they were really fun and the listeners loved their show that night. Sparky/KIBZ: Hinder.

Frank Pain/KEYJ: Hinder, they’re a grassroots band that likes to meet their audience. Maxwell/WNCI: It would have to be Saving Jane. They are from here and when they’re on, people listen. Bob Patrick/WXLK: Saving Jane. Requests tripled for their song after they were here. Chris Reed/KSMB: We had the Pussycat Dolls here, and Bo Bice was also good. Keith Allen/WQEN: Hinder. JJ Rice/WBLI: Having Akon here was pretty huge. Mike Rossi/WSTW: JC Chasez was recently here and was great. Brody/WDCG: Chris Daughtry was great, 50 Cent had people lined up outside, and when Anna Nalick played in studio we got instant calls. Billy The Baby DJ/KHTT:Frankie J. He took the time to meet people. Natalie Randall/WFBC: Drake Bell and Teddy Geiger. We had huge young-end turnouts for both of these artists. Beaver/WERO: Josh Hoge at a mall appearance. He packed the mall and nobody could move. John Perry/WIIL: Godsmack once did a charity hockey event with the Hanson Brothers, and Shinedown did our Thanksgiving concert two years ago. Both of those events really connected with our listeners. |
