Singer Natalie Cole has died at the age of 65. The daughter of the great Nat King Cole, she had a number of hit singles in the ’70s, including “This Will Be” and “Our Love” and re-emerged in the ’90s with the smash hit album Unforgettable…With Love. A collection of standards, it featured her smash hit duet on “Unforgettable” with her late father, and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1992. “Unforgettable” won Record of the Year and Song of the Year as well, and the album went 7x Platinum.
Cole had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction throughout her career, and battled liver disease as well as Hepatitis C. She had been ill recently, and canceled a number of performances, including one scheduled for New Year’s Eve.
