Gary Spangler
Label exec promo extraordinaire Gary Spangler has been promoted EVP of Republic Records. The declaration comes from Republic Records CEO Monte Lipman who commented, “Gary’s leadership and recent accomplishments have been nothing short of historic. His passion for breaking new acts and supporting the artist community is second to none, and his focus and determination exemplifies his leadership of an amazing staff of executives.”
As EVP, Spangler continues his successful oversight of the entire promotion department as well being involved in the label’s strategic decision-making process. In 2020, Republic/Island held onto the pole position of being Mediabase’s #1 Airplay-Market share label, a feat which has been repeated for seven consecutive years now under Spangler’s guidance.
Spangler, a sixteen-year Republic veteran, remarked, “It’s an honor to play a small part in the legacy of Republic that Monte and Avery have built from the ground up. I’m inspired to be on this team.
