Industry trade magazine Radio & Records has been acquired by Dutch media company VNU, the owners of rival publication Billboard. The deal is expected to close by August 1. “R&R‘s operations will be integrated into Billboard,” according to an official statement from VNU.

Clear Channel Classic Hits WBIG/Washington, D.C. names Dan Michaels PD. The veteran programmer will be in place on July 10 and takes over for the recently promoted Bill Hess, now OM of CC’s AM trio WTEM, WTNT and WWRC located in the nation’s capital.

At the RCA Music Group, David Dyer rejoins the label as Sr. Director/ Pop Promotion. Dyer, who returns to the label from a similar role with Jive/Zomba, will be in place on July 17. Wendy Goodman is elevated to VP/Adult Formats. Goodman rises from the National Director/Adult Formats post. Also at RCA, Tyler Waugh is appointed Southwest Regional Promotions rep, replacing Vance Cobb who recently exited for the National Director/Promotion gig at Universal Motown. Waugh most recently handled regional promo duties out of Atlanta for Roadrunner Records.

CBS Radio-St. Louis ups Account Executive Sharie Levingston to LSM at AC KEZK, while at Hot AC clutter buddy KYKY, Account Executive Matt Urban now enjoys LSM duties.

XM Satellite Radio announces that it added more than 398,000 new net subscribers during the second quarter of 2006 for a total of more than 6.89 million subscribers. The company has scheduled a conference call on July 27, 2006, at 10 a.m. ET to announce and discuss its financial results for the second quarter of 2006.

Meanwhile, Sirius added 600,460 new net subscribers during its second quarter, which is a 64 percent increase from the same time last year. The satcaster now has approximately 4.68 million subscribers.

Montage Music names Jon Conlon to its West Coast Radio Marketing Team. Conlon formerly handled West Coast regional promo duties for Columbia Records.
