Local pandemic response focuses on resources for local families and organizations.
In response to the recent coronavirus pandemic, iHeartMedia Charlotte recently launched Carolina Cares, an initiative to help the local community by highlighting local organizations and services necessary during times of crisis.
iHeartMedia Charlotte’s on-air personalities will talk on-air about Carolina Cares every hour for the duration of the campaign. Across all its stations’ websites, iHeartMedia Charlotte is promoting various local organizations offering services to individuals as well as businesses that are operating on limited hours and restaurants that are offering delivery, pickup or gift cards during this pandemic. Local organizations highlighted will include Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, American Red Cross and Classroom Central, with more to be added on a need basis.
Listeners can learn more about organizations providing warm meals, school supplies, blood donations and more around Charlotte and The Carolinas by visiting HITS 96.1, 96.9 The Kat, UP!98.7, 99.7 The Fox, 102.9 The Lake, and 106.5 The End websites.
A.J., SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Charlotte commented, “The most important responsibilities and rewards of our industry is the ability to make a connection, interact, share information and create companionship with our local communities, especially during these uncertain times. Our team continues to be dedicated to engaging listeners, clients and the entire community during these trying times.”
