Rapper Juice WRLD, an up-and-coming hitmaker in the hip-hop world, has passed away at the age of 21 following a medical emergency at Chicago’s Midway International Airport. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, emergency crews responded at the airport this morning at approximately 3:30 am after the rapper (real name: Jarad Anthony Higgins) had an unknown “medical issue” shortly after getting off a private jet. TMZ is reporting that Juice WRLD suffered a seizure, though this has not been confirmed.
Juice WRLD scored multiple hit singles in his young career, including “Lucid Dreams,” which hit #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year. He debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year with his sophomore album Death Race for Love. In 2018, he also released a collaborative album with Future, titled Wrld on Drugs. Juice WRLD collaborated with a diverse mix of artists over the past few years, including Travis Scott, Ellie Goulding and members of BTS. He opened for Nicki Minaj‘s European tour earlier this year as well.
