What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?

Kobi, WNRW/WLGX: I eloped and got married! Jagger, WKSS/WKCI: Not being afraid to move early in my career. A lot of people in their early 20’s are afraid to make that move. I was moving by myself across the country…a few times! Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Taking the office next to Marc Chase. Josh Wolff, WAEB: Staying strong for my Mom when my Dad passed away.
Mike Miller, WZFT: Starting my own DJ business at 12 years old or when I decided to pursue a career in radio. Kevin Kash, WWEG: Become a father. Matt Talluto, WBYR: Procreated. Oh, and with the assumption that I had the knowledge to raise whoever it was that resulted of that procreation that I knew what I was doing, knowing full well I didn’t. But when it turned out that I did OK, I realized, “Hmmmm. That was pretty courageous.” |
Chris Michaels, FM100: Packing up and leaving my hometown at the age of 20 for New Bern, NC to do nights full time. Didn’t think twice about it…just knew it was great move, and I needed to move to grow. It was a great decision! Todd Shannon, WAPE: Quitting one of the best jobs I’d ever had in Philly for my family to move back to Jacksonville after my dad past away.
Jason LaChance, Stephens Media Group: Quit drinking. I am a better father, family man, friend and employee.

Sassy, WKXJ: At a very young age, I left my hometown and went to a smaller market to do radio. I had no idea what to expect but it just ended up working out and eventually led to a full-time job in radio.
Max Volume, KOZZ: In the movie We Bought a Zoo, Matt Damon talks about “20 seconds of insane courage.” My father told me “10 seconds of bravery” when he took the training wheels off my Schwinn Stingray bike. It stuck. Want to ask the beautiful girl out? Ten seconds of bravery. What to sneak in with the load-in crew and get backstage to interview Billy Idol? Ten seconds of bravery. It’s Friday the 13th and your pregnant wife’s water broke? Ten seconds of bravery. Buckle up, stand up, make it real… 10 seconds of bravery…
Rick Vaughn, KENZ: I drove from Spokane to Phoenix with no job. I hoped in a U-Haul took off and dropped airchecks off along the way. I wound up getting a gig at KKFR.
